I agree. I buckled my 1st libtech. Surfing at Fort Point on a small day. But i believe in their product that i bought 2 more. But the worst is its fin box. Both of my 2 year old board had issues with the box. I was told by my repair guy that they have low quality fin box and he showed me the difference side by side. Don’t buy it. I warned you.

Sorry Rob but yes there are bad boards. Badly designed badly shaped and badly glassed. Sure you can ride it. Yeah guys ride doors and stand up. But that's not a good board. I bought an off the shelf copy of a lost rocket. Absolutely terrible. Yeah I stood up and did some turns but no spark, no drive and no spring. Pros don't buy off the shelf boards for a good reason.

I have this board. Cant make it turn. Once the rail grips and drives it just goes straight. Its the shittiest board iv ever surfed. Its way too flat.

Don't be conned by expensive and signature fins. You can use your own far cheaper fin combos which will work just as well, or even better. For quads just use normal thruster fins up front, then smaller side-byte fins (they are foiled) up the back. Don't go too large. Often small or medium fins front and back are just fine. Obviously, the bigger the fin in height, length (sweep) and width the stiffer your board will be. Also if your fins are solid without flex then guess what? Yes they will make your board stiffer too. That is it. No magic.

Are there any advantages to getting a board like this that is about the same length as the height of the surfer? I may have the opportunity to buy a board that is 1 inch longer than i am tall. I don't have alot of fat on me. Bad idea to go for the board? Any silver linings if i do go for it? And what to pay attention too when i use a board that is a little longer than i am tall (5"7 is my height)

That's not a very different kind of board from a different kind of shaper. Soft boards (polyethylene) have been here for over fifty years. With Joe Quigg being the first person to make one, in 1964, 6 years before Tom Morey. Joe Quigg's soft board happen to have the same outline and size as this board, and was made for me when I was seven years old, in Newport Beach, California. This outline's origin is from a Waikiki Alaia board, from the ancient original Hawaiian surfers. Alia being the short version of the ancient Hawaiian surfboard, and the Olo, being the longer version. Originally made out of koa wood, amoung other woods.
